One or several drives no longer move automatically once they have been set to manual then back to automatic via the central control.

Automatic move commands from hand-held transmitters with memory functions (Centronic or B-Tronic) can be changed to manual from the central control, but cannot be changed back to automatic. Here are two suggestions for avoiding the ensuing problems:

  • If the installation includes a central control, time-controlled commands should be handled via the timer function of the central control.
  • The memo time at the relevant drives can also be reactivated at the hand-held transmitter by changing over from manual to automatic.

Receiver cannot be programmed.

Possible cause: The receiver is not within range
Remedy: Reduce distance to receiver or install repeater(s).

Possible cause: The receiver was not put into programming mode correctly as specified in the instructions for the receiver.
Remedy: Put receiver correctly into programming mode and reprogram it. Refer to the operating instructions for the receiver in question.

Possible cause: When the receiver was programmed, the wrong receiver type (KNX / Centronic) was set
Remedy: Set the receiver type correctly when reprogramming.

Possible cause: The wrong device type (tubular drive, switching actuator, dimming actuator, etc.) was set when programming
Remedy: Set the device type correctly when reprogramming.

Possible cause: The receiver memory is full.

Switching / movement of receivers does not work.

Possible cause: The receiver does not have a mains supply
Remedy: Check mains connection.

What is "Repeater Mode" and when should I activate it?

The Becker roller shutter drive model B-Tronic B1 can be put in "Repeater Mode". The purpose of "Repeater Mode" is to ensure reliable operation of all wireless components under difficult reception conditions. If "Repeater Mode" is activated at a drive, it forwards all commands it receives wirelessly. This takes place irrespective of whether or not the relevant command is intended for that specific drive. In this way, if receivers are outside the range, they can still be reached by selective use of "Repeater Mode" in the nearest drive.

How do I know that a motor is in "Repeater Mode"?

The query as to whether a drive is in "Repeater Mode" can only be made in "Master Mode". The exact procedure is described in the operating instructions for the particular device.

Does a drive with a repeater function have to be programmed at all hand-held transmitters to "repeat"?

No – the drive which is to act as repeater can be any B-Tronic drive. Whether or not it is programmed to the particular transmitter is irrelevant.

Individual receivers fail to respond when a timer command or scenario is activated.

The problem always affects the same receiver: Please check whether the receiver concerned is within radio range, is connected to the mains and has been correctly programmed.

The problem affects different receivers at different times: In order to ensure correct execution of timer commands or scenarios that involve several receivers of the same type, (i.e. several roller shutter drives), you need to create a group for those receivers. You can then assign this group to the timer command or scenario. This measure ensures that the receivers all receive the same travel/switching commands at the same time.

What is a "group" and what are the benefits of this function?

A "group" is a number of receivers combined on one channel of the transmitter. All receivers in a group respond jointly to signals from the transmitter.
It is important to bear in mind that only receivers of the same type – e.g. roller shutter drives or switching receivers – can be combined in one group. A 1-channel hand-held transmitter can also control groups, although only one group per hand-held transmitter. The confirmation (positive/negative) is only provided once the last group participant has issued a status message.

What is a scenario and what are the benefits of this function?

Several receivers are combined in one "scenario". All receivers of a scenario react jointly to the commands for starting or stopping the scenario. In contrast to the group, devices that have been combined in one scenario do not have to consist of receivers of the same type. They can approach positions that have been individually defined beforehand, or can assume switching states.
Confirmation (positive/negative) is only provided once the last scenario participant has issued a status message.

What does "sensitive obstruction detection" mean

Becker C Prof drives include the option of sensitive obstruction detection. If a roller shutter encounters an obstruction when moving this is detected very sensitively. The drive stops immediately and moves a few centimetres in the opposite direction to avoid damaging the object in the travel path.

Is it possible to adjust intermediate positions at the same time?

If several drives have been programmed to one channel and an intermediate position is set or deleted, this change always applies to all drives in a selected channel.

Is it possible to move/switch several drives/receivers?

Several drives or receivers can be activated at the same time as a group or scenario.

Can different types of receiver be programmed to one channel?

Only the same type of receiver – i.e. roller shutter drives or switching receivers – can be programmed to one channel and therefore in one group. The operating mode is determined by the selection for the first programmed receiver. If you still need to combine different types of receiver the scenario function is an effective alternative.

How many receivers can I program to the central control?

The number of receivers that can be programmed to a transmitter depends on the transmitter type. Up to 200 B-Tronic receivers and also up to 45 Centronic receivers can be taught in at a CentralControl.

Can I program several drives at the same time, as is the case with the Centronic?

No, this is not possible with B-Tronic / KNX. As the drives provide confirmation that the programming process was successful to each hand-held transmitter in turn, only one motor can be programmed at the same time.

Attachment of the central control to the wall

The central control can be attached to the wall using the screws supplied. The central control can also be used as a freestanding unit as it is equipped with fold-out feet. Irrespective of the method used, please select a dry location that is not permanently exposed to direct sunlight.

What is the Astro function and what are its benefits?

The B-Tronic CentralControl controls your home automation systems as required via the Astro function, according to the calculated sunrise and sunset times.

You can assign one of the two Astro versions to each timer:
- Astro morning – depending on sunrise
- Astro evening – depending on sunset
