Becker offers energy-autonomous solutions for roller shutters and sun protection

Rising energy costs, the desire for sustainable solutions and a growing need for flexible retrofitting: solar-powered systems are becoming increasingly important in the roller shutter and sun protection market. Becker offers a comprehensive range of intelligent solar solutions for this purpose – from drives and sensors to smart control centers.

The focus is on simple and fast installation: since no complex wiring is required, the systems can be installed particularly efficiently – both in new buildings and when retrofitting. At the same time, end customers benefit from an energy-autonomous solution that saves electricity and operates reliably over the long term.

With the SolarKit SK460, Becker offers a powerful drive solution for roller shutter and screen applications. The integrated control and charging electronics enable more than 100 operating cycles on just one battery charge. At the same time, functions such as soft start and soft stop, obstacle detection and programmable intermediate positions ensure a high level of convenience and reliable operation in everyday use.

Thanks to complete installation within the application, no drilling is required, thereby eliminating thermal bridges into the interior.

The range is complemented by solar-powered sensor solutions such as the SensorControl SC861 PLUS sun and wind sensor and the SensorControl SC631 PLUS window light sensor.

Mounted on the outside of the façade, the SensorControl SC861 PLUS is suitable for both sun protection applications such as awnings and roller shutters. It reliably reacts to changes in the weather and provides automated protection: in strong winds or storms, for example, the awning retracts automatically, while in intense sunlight it independently provides the necessary sun protection. Roller shutters can also be controlled automatically depending on the sunlight, helping to protect interiors from unwanted heat build-up. This makes the sensor the ideal solution for convenient sun and weather protection in everyday use.

The SensorControl SC631 PLUS was developed specifically for use with roller shutters and is particularly easy to install directly on the window pane indoors. It is attached easily using an adhesive pad – with no complex installation or additional wiring required. The sensor features a shading and twilight function, a high-resolution e-paper display and control buttons directly on the device, among other things. In addition, users can conveniently switch between manual and automatic mode. This enables the SC631 PLUS to provide convenient, energy-efficient and intelligent roller shutter control in everyday use.

As the central control unit, the CentralControl CC41 connects all components to form one intelligent overall system. The smart home hub conveniently controls roller shutters, sun protection and other applications via smartphone or tablet, making it the heart of Becker’s automation solutions. With the CentralControl app, users can access their home at any time and from anywhere – for example, conveniently while on holiday or on the go. In addition, the CC41 also enables control via voice command, such as with Amazon Alexa, providing added convenience in an intelligently connected home.

The range is complemented by the CentralControl CC11 – a smart compact control unit in a practical plug-in format. Unlike the CC41, the CC11 operates completely locally and requires neither internet nor Wi-Fi. Commissioning is carried out easily via smartphone using Bluetooth® – with no complex network settings required. Time programs and sun protection settings then run reliably and automatically. The CC11 can be controlled either via the Be app or directly using the individually configurable control buttons on the device. This means Becker also offers a particularly straightforward smart home solution for smaller installations or retrofit projects.
