100 years of Becker-Antriebe GmbH is cause for celebration

Becker-Antriebe GmbH, one of the leading manufacturers of drives and control units for the automation of roller shutters and sun protection systems as well as smart home solutions, can now look back on 100 years of company history. Since its foundation, this family-run company has grown into an internationally successful and innovative company – with more than 350 employees. This major anniversary should already have been celebrated in 2021 but had to be delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. It was thus belatedly celebrated this year with even more gusto.

A day for the whole family

A huge tent, various refreshment stands and a varied fun park for children awaited guests at the sports grounds in Fleisbach, a district in the municipality of Sinn in Hesse, where Becker has been based since it was founded back in 1921. Younger guests were able to use the bouncy castle, jump around on the bungee trampoline, scale the climbing wall or overcome an obstacle course to their heart’s delight. The children had great fun playing the quiz show “1, 2 or 3” that is well-known from the TV channels ZDF and KiKa and were guided through the show by host Alexander Königsmann. The show’s mascot Piet Flosse also made an appearance and was happy to pose for photos with the many guests who wanted a lasting memento of the occasion.

Evening event with an extraordinary retrospective

The tent was transformed into a festive location for the evening event. Managing Partner Hans Joachim Wiegelmann and Managing Partner Jürgen Timm warmly welcomed guests and were delighted to be able to celebrate the company’s 100th anniversary together with everyone. Maik Wiegelmann, who is also a Managing Partner and Head of Technology, Innovation and Academy, emphasised the special significance of this anniversary and how the success of the company throughout its history had only been possible thanks to the exceptional cooperation between all employees. Frank Haubach, Head of Sales and Marketing, extended a special welcome to the numerous guests from subsidiaries and representative offices who had travelled from abroad. Even the company’s representative in Australia had made the long journey from Melbourne to Sinn to participate in the celebrations.

Dirk Daniels from the five live event agency hosted the evening event. Guests were entertained by various show acts between courses of the meal. The entertainment started with a magic show from Sascha Lange. Dirk Daniels was not only an impressive host but also showed off his singing talent – he even composed a Becker song especially for the anniversary celebrations which highlighted the feeling of togetherness within the Becker team. The entertainment ended with an exhibition of artwork created by a sand artist that impressively illustrated the 100-year history of the company and provided a truly extraordinary retrospective. Various key points in the history of the company, such as e.g. the foundation of the company, were depicted in artwork made of sand.

Once the official part of the event was concluded, a cover band called “Mission2Party” ensured that the party atmosphere continued well into the night. “All in all it was a very successful celebration that had something for everyone. We had the impression that all of the visitors really enjoyed the occasion and everyone had a great day”, summarised Jürgen Timm.

“1, 2 or 3” – younger guests were able to feel here like they were starring in the well-known television show of the same name.

The dance group “Just Dance” from TSV Fleisbach thrilled visitors with their choreography.

Dirk Daniels from the five live agency hosted the day’s events and his special vocal performance was a real highlight in the evening.
