New EnOcean drives from BECKER integrated into mediola®
mediola’s open-source, integrative and future-proof all-in-one smart home solutions consisting of software, apps and gateways stand for easy installation, continuous extendibility and countless cross-brand combination options. In the process, mediola builds bridges between technologically isolated solutions and unites a wide variety of radio systems with Bus and IP technologies to form one of the largest and most comprehensive smart home platforms in Europe.
As a result of the enhanced cooperation with Becker Antriebe GmBH – a long-standing “WORKS WITH mediola®” partner and a specialist for drives for roller shutters and sun protection systems – the huge number of supported devices has now increased even further. With immediate effect, mediola is now also able to support the newly developed tubular drive for roller shutters that is equipped with the international EnOcean radio standard. It stands out, in particular, due to its extremely low energy consumption and energy harvesting. The open-source, all-in-one smart home solution from mediola can be used to combine the new EnOcean models with the Becker Centronic radio drives that have already been supported by mediola for a long time.
Ideal complete solution for specialist companies and residents of smart homes
Integration into the award-winning mediola smart home system, whose latest product innovation – the AIO GATEWAY V6 Plus model – was recently awarded the renowned Smart Home Germany Award 2020 in the “Best Product” category by a specialist jury, provides Becker and its customers with a large number of additional smart options. For example, the various radio drives from Becker can not only be combined with one another as desired but they can also be networked with a huge number of other branded products from the areas of building and safety technology, household devices or Hi-Fi systems. They can also be controlled and automated using a uniform user interface. In this way, it is possible to combine Becker products across brand and technological boundaries with devices from Sonos, Homematic IP, Eltako, Roto, Somfy, Siegenia, Netatmo, Doorbird, Hautau, Nuki, Philips HUE, netatmo, etc, to create a homogeneous and above all smart overall system.
The cooperation between Becker and mediola gives the specialist companies fitting these drives the attractive possibility of delivering a finished control system in the form of an expandable smart home solution to their customers that can then be personalised by the customers themselves in the future.
Depending on their requirements, users can add new devices, while creating their own fully customised mix of products in the process. They are also able to combine everything within their own individual scenes, create smart automation processes and also control every device with their voice. The IQONTROL NEO app was specifically designed as an entry-level solution for those specialist companies and their customers who want to be able to get started quickly and easily. IQONTROL NEO is particularly intuitive and easy to use, automatically generates very sophisticated user interfaces and already provides all of the important functions required for easy and smart automation.
